A few days ago a little princess went to dance in heaven. The Princess I am speaking of is a little girl named Lacy. She was a cute and happy little girl. Despite her age she inspired many to smile.
During the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament, I heard bits and pieces about Lacy and her “brother”, Adreian Payne, from my father and a few friends. I fell in love with their story and the bond between them. I knew there was a Big Ten featured YouTube video about their story, but I had yet to see it.
The day before Lacy passed away I finally watched the video. It was amazing! The day Lacy past away I was casual scrolling through twitter and saw some had tweeted it. I literally gasped. I could not believe it. I didn’t expect to see such sad news. I would be lying if I said I didn’t hold back some tears.
The message to take away from Lacy is even though she was going through a hard time; she always found time to smile. This is a message that everyone should take and apply it in their lives. Always try to smile even if you are going through a hard time in your life.
My heart goes out to the Holsworth family and Adeian Payne.
“Beauty is being the best possible version of yourself on the inside” – Unknown
This quote is so right on because beauty is truly not all about looks.
You are Beautiful
You don’t have to be the prettiest or most popular girl in school for people to like and respect you. It makes me very sad when I read negative social media post girls write. Many times these posts are about how ugly they are, how fat they are or how some body part is out of proportion…Girls YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!
If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to STOP putting yourself down and always remember to be your #1 FAN.
It is so true. You really do need to be more concerned about how beautiful you are on the inside. To me, being beautiful on the inside means:
Being genuinely nice to someone.
Standing up for what is right.
Helping someone in need.
Being loyal and reliable.
Being a great friend.
Having good morals.
Let’s take a closer look at one trait I believe is very important. That is being confident in your own skin. Confidence can go along way. If someone sees that you are confident good things can happen like, a lead role in a play or video, getting a job that many applied for, or making a spot on a high level team. Building your confidence is possible, but it may take a little work.
If you have struggled or are struggling with being confident or believing you are beautiful and you want to share your story, send it to me. If you give me permission I will post your story. If you allow me to post your story, my guess is you will help someone just by sharing how you overcame your feelings about yourself or how you are currently dealing with it.
