Day 1 Birthday Workout
Just because it was my birthday doesn’t mean I can’t workout. Obviously, you want to do activities that are fun to do on your birthday and working out is an activity I love to do.
My birthday workout consisted of:
• Dead lift
• RDL power shrug
• Walking lunges
• Wheel tuck push-ups
• Band pull-a-parts
This was a great workout and I feel like I am becoming stronger!
You have seen my workout for today and I hope your next workout is very successful!
One thing I really love to do is set goals for myself. Ever since I can remember I have had huge dreams about basketball and playing at very high level. Aside from basketball, I have some pretty big dreams for my life.
Honestly, I would consider myself a huge dreamer. I love life so I want to get the most out of it. For awhile now, I have been creating my bucket list of dreams for my life. I have also been focusing hard on my goals for this blog.
One of my goals is to reach for involves dance. When I was younger I used to take hip hop and lately I have been wanting to get back in it. To me, dance is fun and a great way to express yourself. Another cool dream I have in my bucket list is to go on tour with a performer and just be apart of the experience. So, as you can see my dreams are big and I figure, why not!
All I am trying to say is just go all out and set wild dreams and goals for your self. Don’t hold back. For example besides my goals for basketball, I have goals in fashion. One day I would love the opportunity to have my own clothing line. One thing I want you to know is that you can have goals in all areas of life. Just because I have a dream that has to do with a sport doesn’t mean I can’t have one for fashion too. Same goes to you.
Don’t be afraid to fail. And, don’t be reluctant to accomplish them. The biggest failure is not trying at all. Love life in a positive way and do the things you want to do. Like I said, I love basketball and it’s a huge part of my life because it makes me happy. But I also want to give it a go a try with dancing. It is cool to stretch yourself and have dreams and goals that might seem completely opposite of your main dream or goal. If it is in your heart, then why not give it a try?
Live life, don’t let life direct you and don’t be afraid to be a dreamer!

P.S.S. – If you have a big dream you want to accomplish, have already accomplished it or it’s just an idea stuck in your head, then send it in to me! I would love to hear about it.
When you hear the word “effort”, the first thing that probably pops into your mind is “how much work have I put into something”. Effort can really define you as an athlete. It can define you as a person. It can really impress a coach or it can really disappoint a coach.
Everyone gives effort. Some give more than others. Some give effort when they feel like it and some give effort all the time.
If you really want to be the athlete you say you want to be, then you must give good effort all the time and to your fullest capability. Like the old saying goes…”Give 110% all the time”.
Coaches notice more than you think. They will be able to pick out those athletes that give a ton of effort all the time and they will notice which athletes give effort only some of the time.
Learning to give effort as an athletes can transfer over to your everyday life. When things get hard in school or everyday life, do you push through to do your best or do you just do enough to get by?
There have been times when I have been guilty of not given full effort, especially when it comes to school. Have you found this to be true with you? Have you found yourself to tired to study for a test, not feeling like going the extra mile work on a skill, or thinking a certain assignment is simply to hard to even learn. Bottom line is, we have to continuously remind ourselves that we will get through the difficulties and we have to work hard at it!
I have an idea. Why don’t we set a challenge for ourselves this week. How much effort can we give? Let’s set a goal and give it more effort than we every have. And, let’s just not apply it to sports. Let’s apply to everyday life.
“If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It” – Walt Disney
Have you ever had a dream that you really wanted to happen, but obstacles got in the way? Maybe those obstacles made you start believing your dream could not be reached and you became less motivated to make it happen?
You know, if you really have a dream and if you want it bad enough, you can achieve it! That’s why I love this quote so much. If you set your mind to fulfilling your dream, then believe hard it can be accomplished!
As a dreamer myself, I have some pretty big goals in my life. I have hit many obstacles that made me have some doubt, but I eventually over came them. Walt Disney is a huge inspiration to me. He went through many challenges but overcame them. Early on in his career, Walt Disney faced bankruptcy and he was even fired from his job because he was “not creative enough”!
We all know what eventually happen to Walt’s dreams. It is amazing to see what he accomplished in his life time and even after.
Let’s learn from Walt Disney….If you have a dream and you really want it, you can do it!
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible!”
I really love this quote by Audrey Hepburn. Too often many young women aspiring a dream believe things are impossible because it might seem hard at first.
Sometimes we give up too easy and don’t realize the goal or dream we are striving for is right around the corner.
Always remember, anything is possible if you put your mind too it! You have more power to reach your dreams than you think.
